Salutations, my name is Bjorn “BJ” James and I’m from Port St. Lucie, FL. I’m currently a dual-concentration graduate student in the master’s program at Nova Southeastern University. I’m studying to become a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LMHC). I am profoundly connected to my Caribbean heritage and culture. My parents were born in Jamaica and so they have always made it a point to teach me about things from back home. I live in PSL with my beautiful bride, two daughters, and two dogs. I enjoy playing basketball, traveling, eating at unique restaurants, spending time with family, and collecting vinyl records. I currently work as a registered behavior technician/practitioner and CMHC intern in the Treasure Coast area. I have been working with individuals who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities, neurological disorders, and mental health conditions for about 15 years now. I really enjoy it and I’m definitely excited about my future endeavors regarding the helping profession. I fun fact about me is that I really enjoy playing chess. In my free time, I study the game extensively. I would like to play in a club level tournament one day for fun!
