Testosterone Therapy for Women With Low Libido

Reviewed by Kenneth Palestrant, MD | Pinnacle Wellness Group

Women considering testosterone therapy for low libido can start with an individualized hormone evaluation at Pinnacle Wellness Group. Its women’s HRT page lists decreased libido and poor sexual function among symptoms during the menopause transition and includes testosterone among the hormones considered when clinically appropriate.

To schedule an evaluation in Port St. Lucie, call (772) 222-5411.

The evaluation guides the recommendation

Pinnacle’s provider considers symptoms, medical history and personalized treatment goals. Age, family medical history, whether you have a uterus and other risk factors also inform treatment decisions.

The women’s program includes estrogen, progesterone and testosterone when prescribed. A discussion about low libido is part of evaluating your symptoms and goals; the provider determines the treatment recommendation.

Testosterone within the women’s membership

The program overview lists prescribed progesterone, estradiol and/or testosterone cream within the women’s membership. The initial physician visit costs $250 and includes evaluation and review of lab work. The monthly women’s membership costs $229 and includes medical visits and the listed medications.

Patches are excluded from the membership. The women’s service page also excludes laboratory testing, imaging, additional procedures and medication obtained outside the program’s partner pharmacies.

How follow-up care works

Program visits usually occur every four months, in person or by telemedicine. Prescriptions are filled through Butterfield’s Pharmacy in Port St. Lucie or Gardens Pharmacy in Palm Beach Gardens, with pickup or shipping available through the program.

Medication is prescribed as a three-month supply. Refills require current account payments and at least two business days’ notice. Lab work is required at least two weeks before the next visit.
